How To Make A Hardwood Floor For Your Dollhouse

So, without further ado, here's a little tutorial on how to lay hardwood flooring in your dollhouse. Every room in the dollhouse except the bathroom has one. I used wood stain in some rooms and painted floor in others. When I was ready to install my first stage, I went to a restaurant supply store and bought a big box of coffee stirrers. However, when I brought them home, I quickly realized that they were too narrow for the dollhouse. So I went to Michael's and bought some wooden sticks. Using my favorite tool, the Easy Cutter, I cut off the rounded ends of the sticks. (The Easy Cutter is essential if you are going to be cutting wood to make mouldings, baseboards or flooring. If you wait to paint the wood until it is installed, you run the risk of the floor (We are working in the office/DIY room and I choose to go with a painted floor.) As you can see, I'm laying out the beading as you would laying real parquet. the first row of beading, then cut shorter lengths to fill in the gaps near the wall.(It's messy - I then find myself peeling dried glue off my fingers for several hours.) It's slow work and method. This floor took about three or four hours to install, from start to finish. And I wanted the look of floors that were installed a long time ago, which are slightly uneven, with gaps here and there. That's also the look of my real house. In the kitchen, I laid the floor in the direction o placed to create a certain contrast with the adjoining living room. It came with the usual dark glossy wood and was one of the first pieces I painted. This white fabric, while pretty, wasn't the look I was going for. Yesterday, I finally looked in my fabric and found this pattern:

Always be my heart. Oh, there is a method to my madness. If you click on Comments, you will find a Pinterest button at the bottom of the post.
