Midmod Throw Pillows: Ikea Gullklocka And Idasofia Cushion Cover Hack

I enlarged my quilt sandwiches about an inch in either direction, quilted them, then cut them to size for the pillow before sewing the backing in with a 3/8" seam all the way around so that technically my pillowcase was smaller than the pillow (I like my pillows to be soft and not slide around in the case). I had several projects lined up and ready to be completed, with one project being new pillow covers for the sofa in the living room. For this project I used a GULLKLOCKA in a bright yellow and white IDASOFIA pillowcase in faux rabbit fur from IKEA which I cut into 2 pieces each, in separating the fronts and backs, and used them as supports for my quilted pillow fronts. The fronts were fabrics that I had been hoarding for a long time for this purpose, funky mid-century inspired prints that add a little jazz to my sofa. I made quilt sandwiches with the t I made them and quilted them with Aurifil 50wts coordinating gloss in Aurifil #1231* (a lime green) on the front cushion white and Aurifil #2120* (a lime yellow) on the green print. The funky green print I quilted in a retro crosshatch pattern in the Aurifil 50wt lemon -My white pillows I used the printed pattern to quilted them in a wacky straight line pattern with the cute Aurifil lime -For these covers I used*this post contains affiliate links to Amazon at no additional cost to you.
